Lyon - Cathédrale de Fourvière
|
Constitute
with Dauphiné, Forez, Lyonnais, Beaujolais, Savoy, Bresse, Bugey, land of Gex, Dombes and
Vivarais, the region is crossed from North to South by the Rivers of Rhône and Saône.
It has been shared between France, German Empire
and Dukes of Savoy who depended to the Naples and Piemont-Sardania's kingdoms. Savoy was
the last region to be annexed to the French territory (1860) with Nice.
Dauphiné remained during many years French
kings monopoly.
