In Aude, you can sample wines of Corbières, Minervois, Fitou, Clape ; but do not forget that Hérault remains the 1st wines producer of France with Corbières, Clairette du Languedoc, Minervois, Saint-Chinian, Lunel (G.W.) or Muscats de Frontignan ; and also, l'Hérault is the greatest vineyard of the world. Spirits lovers could directly go to Pyrénées-Orientales at Rivesaltes. Mineral water drinkers could rather join Lozère with its mineral sources. On flavours side, we could mention : Nougats, Tourons (flavoured almond pastry) and Macaroons (Saint-Jean-de-Luz). As craftman’s trade, we have in Gard the famous vase of Anduze (you can see a detail on the picture - Enfants de Boisset's work). This tradition dates from the 16th century. Many craftmen belonged to the Protestant community. |
