Originally populated with Iberians or Ligures, Cyrnos has been landed by the Phenicians, Phoceans, Etrusks and invaders from Cathagena. Then Corsica was subdued to the Genoese kingdom before to be annexed to France in 1768
A great figure gave to this island its worldwide notoriety, an artillery caporal named Bonaparte and who will become Napoléon I.
