Rennes :
Rennes is the capital of Brittany face to Nantes, dukes of Brittany’s residence (Anne de Bretagne’s castle). Inland, Rennes is crossed by the Vilaine river and the Ille-et-Rance channel. Its fine-arts museum presents many works from Veronese to Rubens, from Leonard de Vinci to Rembrandt and also from the impressionnist school of Pont-Aven and an Antiquity’s gallerie. You should also visit the Brittany museum (monuments models, weapons and costumes).
While a walk in the streets, you ought see the Saint-Pierre cathedrale (classical style), the Notre-Dame church (ancient Sainte-Mélaine abbey),
the Saint-Germain church (gothic), the Thabor’s garden with Du Guesclin’s squarre, the Lices’ place (with the 17th century’s mansions), the town hall place and the Mordelaise gate (rest of the 15th century’s ramparts)

You should discover other sites as Saint-Malo, the privateers’ city with its famous ramparts and its castle as well as the Grand Bé’s (Great B) rock, and the tomb of Chateaubriand. You could also see his family castle at Combourg. In the fortified city of Dinan, do not miss the duchesse Anne’s dungeon, the ramparts with the Coëtquen tower, the Guichet and Jerzual’s gates, the Saint-Sauveur church, mix of romanesque and gothic style. You should also visit Dinard.

Visit also the forest of Paimpont and Broceliande, the Emeraude coast and the Dol’s marsh.

Côtes d'Armor

Saint-Brieuc :
From the Aubé hillrock, you should have a large panorama over the valley of Gouët. Saint-Brieuc kept its traditions as well as to its old stones like the Ribeault’s house (15th century), the dukes of Brittany mansion (Renaissance), the Bellecize manor (17th century - ancient episcopal palace). The Saint-Brieuc's fountain indicates the place where was founded the first community (580) by Brieuc’s monk. Do not miss the Saint-Etienne cathedrale (12th century).

After the beaches and the cliffs of Val St-André to the Erquy cape, from Sables-d'Or-les-Pins till to Fréhel cape, you should see the mounts of Arrée and the moor of Ménée .

On the seaside, hug the Granit Rose’s coast by Perros-Guirec, Ploumanac'h, Trégastel, Trébeurden or the Emeraude’s coast at Saint-Cast

Finistère

Quimper :
In the middle run the Odet River, down from the Frugy mount, you dominate the Saint-Corentin cathedrale (gothic), the Breton museum (folklore), settled in the ancient bishopric (Renaissance) with its gardens. From Saint-Keréon street, lined by many typical houses, you willl reach the bridge on the Steyr River and ramparts ruins from 15th century.

From Douarnenez to the Raz spit you should see Saint-Guénolé (Eckmühl lighthouse). Along Audierne bay, then on Loctudy’s road till Benodet, you will immerse yourself in this Cornwall, earth of tales and legends.

Do not miss the islands of Batz and Glénan, and the peninsula of Ouessant (savage coast) as well as the North seaside, the basin of Chateaulin and the peninsula of Crozon. The natural and regional Armoric Park will be an interesting promenade you could protract with a tour on the seafront : the Golden coast, the Legends’coast, the Abers’ coast, the South Finistere and Cornwall’s coasts.

Morbihan

Vannes :
Vannes' name came from the Venetes, a celt tribe whose fleet was destructed by Cesar near Batz island (57 BC). Deported in Italia, the Venetes settled in a region actually named Venetia with as principle city, Venice.
With its ramparts erected in the 14th and the 15th centuries, the Constable's tower, the medieval part of the city, the Saint-Pierre cathedrale and the fine Arts museum, Vannes forms a unique whole.
The gulf of Morbihan counts many islands (aux Moines, Longue, Arz ...) and an immerged "cromlech".
You should not miss the castles from Rohan to Josselin, and Pontivy.
Visit at Saint-Degan-en-Brech its museum. Do not miss Carnac’s alignments (megalitics), Trinité-sur-Mer’s harbour and also Lorient with its famous interceltic fest.
At Auray, you should visit the ancient harbour of St-Goustan with its typical medieval touch. Here you will refind the quay Benjamin Franklin landed in 1774.

Two islands for a stay : Groix and Belle-Île. And two islands just for a day trip : Houat and Hoëdic.
